About The FDC

Each competition follows its own business practices, which maintains its unique identity. These practices are rooted in the belief that the decision is primarily in the best mutual interest of students, parents and teachers.
The Federation of Dance Competitions, The FDC, is a non profit 501c6 organization started in 2007. It began with a simple phone call from one competition owner to six of his colleagues. The group had already been conversing about scheduling and facilities so he proposed they meet to discuss ways to enhance the dance teacher’s competition experience by working together. The initial goal was to streamline competition elements through normalization and to simplify the studio owner’s workload. It was that uncomplicated and clear-cut. The FDC goal remains the same today.
